program description
Photographs are an invaluable historical resource, but a single snapshot in time can only capture so much information, often leaving mysteries to uncover. Such mysteries can be wonderful muses for art and creativity. Join cartoonist and illustrator Kiku Hughes, author of the graphic novel Displacement, for a historical fiction comics workshop, where participants will use photos from the MOHAI archives to imagine the sequence of events surrounding one moment in Seattle's history, and illustrate what they imagine could have happened before and after that photo was taken.
